The Keyboard and Mouse Do Not Work When I Resume from Standby

Intel E7500..G31 mobo..Win XP SP 3...The USB Keyboard and Mouse Do Not Work When I Resume from Standby.( I tried MS Hot Fix..But When I installing that the installer indicates your OS is newer than you tried to install.) So I can't enter the Password and resume from standby..How I fix this problem ?

Might go into device manager and with both keyboard and mouse set them so they can't go to sleep under power mangement

i.e. for keyboard

start > control panel > device manager > keyboard > power management uncheck turn off device and check allow device to wake
