New Motherboard, and CPU. Need help to boot

So I recently bought a new motherboard and CPU, because my other CPU wasn't compatible with it, and my computer starts up but fails to start windows. I asked a friend what the problem may be, and he says that it recognizes my motherboard as a whole new computer and that it won't start up normally until I run the CD that comes with the motherboard. That's where I'm stuck. I try to run the CD and it still fails for some reason, this is where I'm stuck. I also want to keep all my data on my harddrive. Any tips or steps would be great. And what motherboard do you have? Try using a different computer and download the latest drivers from their website and put them onto a usb drive and install them form it.
