can't 'stop tracking' some threads

@ Wanderer, try this:
Open your tracked threads listing and then click 'mark all as read' then hover the pointer over your notifications counter, it should reset to zero and stay that way.
Odd, thought I listed the problematical threads!
Oh well here's Those That Will Not Die:

I log in through the Forum section-the system hangs if I try to log in on the front page and am on the UK site.
Using IE10 under Win7 64 bit, all updates applied.

Can't see anything that says unfollow, not on any of the threads I'm tracking.
Just to clarify how I get to the threads: Front page>forum dropdown>(subcategory)>sign in>my profile name dropdown>tracked threads>double click on the item to view.
It's very strange because it seems to be totally random, none of them are marked as closed or solved and all can be found in the Forum pages, if you go far enough back.
