Port forwarding devices on a LAN

I've added a router to a LAN with multiple devices that perform metering and output data on a web-server. My end-goal is to access this data remotely. The devices each have assigned IP addresses and I have forwarded their ports from the router. When I access these devices by ethernet connection to the LAN I am able to get to their web pages but when I try to access the websites remotely via IP and port I cannot load their web servers. I can succesfully ping to the devices remotely but cannot access anything else. Is it a matter of not all ports for the devices being open / what other problems could be present?

Are you using their LAN ip address or your WAN ip for your internet connection?

Do you have the forwarding setup as udp, tcp, or both?

I'm using the WAN ip address and the forwarding setup is done with both.
