shuts off for no reason

my computer just shuts off suddenly without any warning. i have a gateway LX6810-01 media center desktop. started yesterday, suddenly the pc just shuts off as if someone pulled the p[ower plug. but starts right back up instantly. ???????????????

I would call up gateway and ask them if it stayed off i could explain it as overheating but immediately starting backup weird,still check the temps with a program like hwmoniter just in case.

Post your power supply specs.
Sounds like the PSU is dieing, which might be the simplest problem to troubleshoot and solve.
Also Heat: Have you thoroughly cleaned out the inside of your PC and all the intake filters and fans?
