mobo won't turn on

I'm trying to wire my ASRock Z77 Pro3 mobo and it's not turning on. What sort of problems could I be having? I believe I wired everything correctly.

Did you plug the 24-pin power connector in from your PSU? GPU is plugged in right (if you have one)? CPU and heatsink are mounted correctly? Power button and front panel is all plugged in?

yes, 24 pin is in. no gpu. heat sink is on correctly I don't know if we plugged in the power button correctly

Check the motherboard manual if the onboard "guide" (usually little + and - signs) isn't helping enough.

No problem. What was the issue? The power button plugged in backwards?

after a long time of fiddling with the power switch cord into the motherboard it just finally ran
