So I am not an expert, but it seems tht the Gigabyte is superior...
They have more or less the same specs, both max 64GB DDR3, etc. But then the Gigabyte is slightly better at some things... examples:
PCI Express 3.0 x16 --- is 4 vs 3
SATA 6Gb/s --- 6 vs 4
Here is a newegg comparison link, hopefully it works:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=%2D1&IsNodeId=1&Description=Gigabyte%20GA%2DX79&bop=And&CompareItemList=%2D1%7C13%2D131%2D800%5E13%2D131%2D800%2DTS%2C13%2D128%2D562%5E13%2D128%2D562%2DTS&percm=13%2D128%2D562%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24
So at a cost of ~240 (Gigabyte) vs ~310 (ASUS), what am I missing? Is it just a brand name thing, with Asus being the premiere brand (from what I can remember)?
I am trying to build a video editing and (secondary) gaming PC. Here is a working build:

Please let me know what you guys think, and if you have any other notes.
Thanks!
