Intel core i3 and gaming

Intel core i3 2375m 1.5ghz and gaming - if a game require a Pentium 2.4ghz shouldn't I be able to run this game on my i3 1.5ghz processor? Isn't i3 superior to Pentium? Or is it only the ghz that count?

When they say "Pentium 2.4Ghz" that is the much older style Pentium 4.

The i3-2375m will handle that easily.

BTW, the Pentium still lives on and is basically an i3 with hyperthreading disabled and lower clock speeds.

My PC has:
Core i3-2375M, 8GB RAM, 1000GB HDD, DVD±RW, Windows 8
Intel HD Graphics 3000

And if I wanna play a game with the system requirements below I should be fine?

OS: Windows Vista / XP / 7 / 8
Processor: Athlon-64, Pentium 4 3.0GHz
Memory: 1GB RAM
Graphics: ATI Radeon X1300, NVIDIA GeForce 6800
DirectX Version: 9
Hard Drive: 10 GB Hard drive space
