Plugin Drive with out housing

how do you plug in an old seagate external hard drive with no housing?
I went to a computer store and they gave me the wrong cord. They said I needed to find another cord whose name I cannot remember!

in a pinch i have just pulled the connection card out of an old enclosure and used that to hook up old drives

Those ^ will work assuming it's a SATA drive. I have had some issues with the cable connections, the dock works better. Or you can just plug the drive internally. You need to know what type of drive you have to get the right cable, SATA or ATA.

This is assuming that you just want to connect it externally by USB. You can of course connect it internally.
