Help me Troubleshoot

I just assembled my first computer, have double checked all my connections and what not but it still doesn't boot up, the Led lights/fan starts up for a few seconds after you press the power button but that is the only sign of life anywhere on it..

Did all of it and now it's actually worse, no led's or fans what so ever..

Somethings not hooked up right or somethings dead, did you check CPU and Socket...any debris, bent broken pins?

After I removed the battery and waited then replaced it it all quit working..

Yea, everything looked perfect, I took the aftermarket cooler i bought off and put the intel one on as i kind of figured that was the problem, that didn't help either..

Ok, I had the power button wires over a slot to far, light's and everything are working again but it still doesn't boot..

used a screwdriver to bridge the two power switch slots still lit up and spun the fans for a second and then immediately off..
