I built a mostly new system with the first four items and which has been working without problems with Intel HD 4600 graphics for about two weeks.

CPU-Intel 4670K
MB-MSI G45
Memory-Kingston 8GB
SSD-Samsung 830 256 GB
Monitor-HP 2511X
HD’s-WDC 640 GB; Samsung HD103SJ 1 TB
DVD-Pioneer DVD
Case-Lian Li PC-7
Win 7

Today I received an EVGA GeForce GTX760 SuperClocked w/EVGA ACX Cooler 2GB GDDR5 and after setting the motherboard BIOS to PEG instead of Integrated Graphics and removing the Intel HD graphics driver in accordance with EVGA’s installation guide, booted the machine up. The video card’s fans are spinning, but there’s no signal going to the monitor, which goes to sleep after 30 seconds or so. I know that the card is seated and I can hear the Windows “chimes” when the system starts up. I just can’t see anything on the monitor. Would I have needed a BIOS update for my motherboard or is there something I can try, short of trying the video card in another computer.
