hello im kinda new to graphics cards and how they mix well with video games basically what i want to know is will my BFG Tech Nvidia 8800gts, 512mb, gddr3, overclocked edition increase my frame rate in resident evil 5 with my current setup my current setup is Processor: AMD Athlon 64, dual core, 6000+, 3.01ghz and 4 1 gig sticks of memory right now i have an 8600 gt 512 meg ddr2 video card and i get max between 45 aqnd 50 frames per second on 1024x768 screen res and all options set to medium or low so will my new gpu give me better frame rate i got the gpu for free and i cant spend money on any upgrades aside from maybe an athlon 64 x3 cpu

Well, yes unless I am mistaken the 8800gts would give a boost. It will not be major though. Your hardware is pretty out of date. It may push you to 50fps constantly.

I wouldn't advise upgrading the CPU. It would just be a little bit of a waste. You are better off overclocking your current CPU and the 8800gts.

Keep what cash you have and if you get to about $250, if it takes you a year even, you will be able to upgrade big time all aspects of your system.

Recommended for future:
AMD a10 APU (Steamroller) Probably around $160
AMD FM2+ Motherbaord. Probably around $50
2x4GB DDR3 RAM. Any brand, around $50
