Hi All,
After a long fight (over 5 years) I managed to get my house re-banded, I have had official notification from VOA and my local council, also a figure for the rebate; but the rebate figure doesn't look right to me (more than I was expecting), does anyone know how rebate is calculated, is there an official formula (etc.)?

I suggest you keep it, justsomejoe - if you query it you'll never know whether they genuinely made a mistake or just decided to take some back because you knew no better. Bank it but retain what you regard as the surplus in case they want to claw it back later. To work it out the way they do, you'd have to know the date when they regarded the band as incorrect.

I must admit I'm tempted to just bank it and keep quiet; after all, they are the people who make the rules, so they must know what they are doing ;-)
