Hello tom's hardware experts,

I'm sure that this is not very significant, but it bothers me nonetheless. Recently I RMA'ed a graphics card and received a new one with the same specs. The old graphic card idled at around 38'c while this new one idles at 43'c.

I'm wondering why is my new card idling at 5 degrees higher than my old one if nothing was changed except the card itself. The temperature on the new card spikes from 43'c to 50'c then goes back to 43'c within a few seconds at random times where as my old one did not do that.

The case had been cleaned and contains no dust, and I've reinstalled the drivers, but it hasn't helped.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Not sure if this matters or not, but the gpu is Sapphire HD 6870 1 gb GDDR5 running at clock speeds.
