dvd drive and hard disk not working together

hi everyone i have a pc with intel 915glvg motherboard. From last couple of days my ide hard disk and ide dvd writer not working at same time. Although each works fine alone.Hard disk is set as master and dvd as slave. When two are connect together only blue screen apears. I have change the connector thrice. Please help me. Thanks in advance

No idea why this would just suddenly start happening. Easiest solution would be to replace the optical drive with a SATA drive.
