Upgrading My CPU

Hello everyone,
I have done some research on AMDs CPU the FX-8350 and I was planing on upgrading to this from an Anthlon II X4 645 @ 3.1 Ghz. I am concerned that my CPU is holding my GTX 560Ti back on performance in games such as Battlefield 3. But before I go and spend $190, would I see any increases in frame rate/performance with the FX-8350? Thanks for any and all help

You already have a quad core?? How much RAM do you have? I don't think it's your cpu holding you back, I could be wrong though.

I have 12 Gb of pretty cheep RAM clocked at 667 MHz according to HWinfo. But I just need to know if I'd see an improvement over my current CPU

[edit] what motherboard do you have exactly? It MAY be compatible..
You would HAVE to switch the ram to use an FX cpu though..

My mother board supports the CPU. Why would I need different RAM?

Oh I see, you have an AM3+ board, I just assumed you had an older board. Anyways, the cpu in question FX-8350, is an AM3+ processor and only natively supports DDR3 RAM.

I do have DDR3 RAM, its just clocked very low, its and older set that I use when scrambling to find some parts. Thanks so much for the help its greatly appreciated DD
