Do jobs really care if you go to a private college or not? even if you get a degree and you have, lets say, certification in fields?

They care about certs but nearly always don't care one iota if you went to a high-dollar school or State U. Shoot, if you are looking at jobs where they look for certs, you should really be looking at 2-year community colleges if even that. If you don't need a particular degree to sit for your certs you want, DON'T GET IT. It won't help you as college is very poor preparation for most fields. About the only thing college is a good preparation for is being a professor, and the job market for those absolutely sucks. You sit in a classroom for years memorizing useless stuff they want to teach you and at the end are 4-5 years older and five figures in debt (public schools) or six figures in debt (private schools.) The most useful thing you get- and then it's mainly only useful in licensed fields- is that piece of paper that says you went, so you can sit for your field's licensing examinations. Your actual learning is on the job. Ask me how I know. :fou:

Private college has to mean something, especially when you have the necessary experience that they are looking for. Research shows that it is the experience that they are looking for not where you went to study.
