Advice for a dual display set up please-1080p & 1050p vs 2x 1050p

Hello I need your advice please

I use my PC mostly for work - 3D modelling/rendering and video post production as well.

Right now I got 3 monitors which I could use to make two different dual display set ups and I need your help to choose which one would be the best for my needs/work.

I need to choose between:

Philips 220E1SB 22''1080p 16:9 (main) and Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW 22'' 1680x1050 16:10 (as second)

or

2x Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW 22'' 1680x1050


It would be nice to have two absolutely the same monitors if I choose to run the two SyncMasters together, but my main question is, as I work in 1080p most of the time, is it going to be a problem to do so on a 1050p 16:10 monitor ?

Hi not that I'm a specialist in this area but when it comes to a balanced system I do know that it's usually better to be uniformed.

If you work in 1080p and that's your preferred resolution that's fine but when it comes to performance GPU wise you'll need to cater for the most demanding resolution.

That's all I can offer on that I'm afraid.

Thanks for the reply mate, but I'm sorry, I couldn't quite understand what do you mean about the GPU performance, probably my English - do you say I would get a better performance with one of the two set ups ?

My graphics card is HD 5770, but where the whole thing gets confusing for me is where I'm going to have a problem when talking specifically for GPU performance. I read quite a few threads about those specific monitors and all I could get is that for gaming I'll benefit from the 16:10 monitor it terms of fps. But then again that's not what I am looking for - I mean I play games and watch 1080p movies on this PC as well, but what's important for me is everything to be OK when I do my work.

What issues do you think you could get by running two different screens?

All I'm aware of is that the different screens will give you the viewing performance its capable of and obviously that will be different from a 1080p screen to a 16:10, with a uniformed set of 1680x1050 you'll get identical viewing resolution which for someone playing games is pretty handy.

I can't see why you'd have a problem running different screens?

Alright I see my initial description might confused you. I do not think I would have problem running two different monitors - I am at the moment with the two SyncMasters as I wanted to try them, but my initial set up was the 22'' Philips with a 17'' 4:3 second monitor.

All I am asking for is what would be best - keep the 1080p for main and use one of the 1050p samsungs for second

or run 2x SyncMasters


but when trying to follow a simple logic I assume my best choice would be 1080p & 1050p set up?
