Hi guys,

I am new to the custom building especially new to the gaming rig community. I am looking at building a rig for about $800-$1000. I have come up with a system and am just wondering if you guys could give me some feedback on it (also is it worth it to go AMD over Intel?)

Intel i5-4670K (4x core 3.4GHz/6MB L3 Cache)
Intel liquid cooling system (ARC Dual Silent fans)
4GB x2 DDR3 1600 Corsair
GeForce GTX 660 2GB
MSI B85 G41
Basic 600 Watt Power Supply
1 TB Drive
Basic 24x CD Drive

$883.00 (+shipping +tax +OS)

Thanks for your feedback

Braden

Well it depends on alot. Is the PSU from antec, XFX, Corsair, Seasonic? If not, it is likely junk and can fail easily and hurt your system. Also, I doubt it really makes 600w.

That 'liquid cooling' is a waste and is likely no better at all than air cooling.

You cannot overclock that CPu on that cheap motherboard so a CPU cooler is a total waste.

Ill end up grabbing a Corsair PSU. What would you suggest then for cooling? and as far as motherboards go what would you suggest then?

Thanks,

Braden
