Hey guys,i bought today a so called Intel q6600 quad core cpu(it's used so i bought it for 30 euros)Speed fan recognize it as an Intel q6600 quad core so does windows system properties but when i refreshed my windows experience index it dropped from 5.9 calculations per sec to 5.4( i was using intel celeron e3300) and that seemed doubtful so i tried checking ms config on the boot setting where you choose how many cores you want to use on start up but they were only 2 cores.I am using windows 7 ultimate 32 bit he showed me too on another windows application i think that the cpu had 4 cores, can it be fake? What can i do to really find out. Thank you in advance!!

Oh i forgot,he said that the cpu was i believe coated with something so that it remains cooler(bullshit) but its super smooth and has a more silverish/shiny color than my older cpu. Therefore i cannot see the writing.

It's saying that it's an Intel core 2 quad Q6600 but on the bottom it says that it has only 2 cores..

Have you tried updating the motherboards bios... There may be an issue with this processor which needs a bios update.

As we do not know what motherboard you have we can not verify what bios you need
