Do you have a 120Hz monitor? You don't need 120 fps if you have a standard 60Hz monitor. BF3 is playable on 1080p ultra at an average of 50 fps, if you take it down from ultra to high and medium, 70 - 80fps, and that's far more than enough.

no i have a 60HZ OCd to 73 but i am getting a 120HZ and i dont find 50FPS playble in BF3 i dont find 60FPS playble in BF3 even but do u think i can get 120FPS i i get a 2500K ?

Taking off AA and setting the settings to medium might get you 120fps.

That's great! Well then you can always try putting just a couple settings a notch higher and try to keep your fps over the 100 barrier. Did you overclock your GPU? You really should, it helps a lot.

no its a factory OC so its 1175 MHZ i can get it to 1267 MHZ if if i want to it jus tgets i little close to 80C wen i do so i dont want to if i dont need to i am getting a steady 140FPS most of the time so thats good for me and right now my monitor is only 73HZ so i dont need 100+FPS for now :)

Oh that's awesome! If your card gets hot on occasions you can adjust the fan speed to something higher than the standard 35%, maybe 40% fan speed would help. Since you're getting that high framerates, you can always go a bit higher on graphic settings, it's always good to have a better image.

yeah i have the fan at 60% but i can make it to 70-80 without it getting loud ill try OCing more in the futur

oh i've never pushed fan speed that far, well that must be a high OC if you've got 80°C sometimes with that fan speed, is your case well ventilated? any fans?

yes its a antec300 not the best but i have 2 coolermaster RED LED fans in front 1 140MM fan on top and a 120MM fan on my H60 on the back and the side panel is off so theres plenty of air i think i messed it up wen i applyd some arctic silver 5 the the GPU cus it went from 60-70 load to 70-75 load at 1175MHZ

why bother change GPU thermal paste? well, anyways, you're getting the frames you wanted, so that's good :D
August 20, 2013 5:51:39 PM

yeah i wont replace thermal paste on GPUs in the future if i dont need to i learned that thanks for all the help :)

You know, with 120hz monitors, 100hz, 110hz and 120hz are all options. You may find it easier to achieve 100 FPS with 100hz while using Lightboost (for near 0 motion blur).
