Like the title says, another first timer trying to spread his wings and fly. I'm not in need of an uber gaming rig and high res graphics are not numero uno for me. I'm going to be doing some light duty gaming (mostly Gmod, FFVII, Infestation, Gotham City Impostors) some 3D modeling for 3D printing in the future and web browsing. I don't need a new monitor, but i wouldn't mind a new 1920 x 1080. I currently have a 720p tv with 1366 x 768. The gaming I'm doing is mostly being done casually with friends, most of my hardcore gaming is done on Xbox. I do need an OS, really having trouble deciding between Win7 or 8. Down the line I'd like to get a SSD for the OS and kick the 1TB to storage. I have no intention on overclocking or sli. I have no preference on sellers. I want to stay close to the total I have or decrease it. I'll be selling my current PC to pay for the bulk of it. I would also like to add a card reader to the case if anyone has suggestions there as well.

Microsoft tend to go between good operating systems and bad ones. Currently Windows 8 is the bad one and its predecessor is Windows 7 which is much better.

I was thinking as much, and its not like 7 is going anywhere since the majority of the business world using windows is on 7 its not like its going anywhere soon. Also, a friend of mine was trying to encourage me to get GT 550 from EVGA instead of the 620. So i started browsing around and I'm thinking I might change out the 620 for 640 instead. But then should i get the DDR3 with PCI express 3.0 or just deal with the 2.0 of GDDR5 since the mobo I picked has 3.0 x 16?
