I am about to take my Acer comp which has a Radeon 7350, APU A8 5500, 8 gb ram, and a 1 tb hdd and ugprade the psu and the gpu. For the graphics card do you guys think a 650 ti 1 gb would be better or a 7770 2 gb. Also do you think my cpu would bottleneck either of these cards?

Thanks for your help!

I found a nice sale on ncix for the 7850 and I think I'm going to go with that one. Do you think there would be any bottlenecking involved with the A8 5500?

Your APU would bottleneck anything over a 7750. It will also bottleneck the 650 ti. There will be a small bottleneck with the 7770 but the performance gain from using the APU will be great

Thank Novuake, kind of stole his info.

Really? So you think that I would be better off getting a 7770 2gb than a gtx 650ti? Also would my build with the 7770 and the apu be able to run games like Arma 3, Arma 2, Borderlands 2, Just Cause 2, or GTA IV at highish settings with a good fps?

Grab the 1GB model instead, the 2GB version has no extra gain in performance whatsoever

Yes, it will be bottle-necked by your APU and perform worse.

Ok I'm thinking of getting the XFX Radeon 7770 1gb is that a good choice? It's on sale right now but is XFX any good?

Also, is it a 2 slot card? Because my crappy mobo only has 1 PCI-Express x 16 slot and 1 PCI Express Expansion slot so would the 7770 still be fine?

XFX are alright. The card will use the PCI Express 16x slot and will occupy 2 slots on the back of you case. PCI expansion slots on a motherboard are for sound cards or modems etc...

It will use 2 of the expansion slots on the your case.
If the XFX card you are looking at is cheaper then the Sapphire byogamingpc recommends and money is a concern go for it. I never had a problem with XFX cards and I do believe they are a good brand.

You're processor will NOT bottleneck a GTX 650 Ti or HD 7770. Its about on par with a Phenom II X4 965 or FX-4100 performance-wise and either of those cards would do just fine with it. It would slightly bottleneck an HD 7850, but all you would have to do is overclock it to about 3.8 Ghz to take care of that.

I just bought an ASUS HD 7770 2GB and am very satisfied with its performance in Skyrim (main game I'm playing right now), but you might want to get the HD 7850 if the price is right - its definitely a much better card.

Do you guys think upgrading to something like a 3570k in a few months and getting a new motherboard would give me a large fps boost while gaming?
