Hi I’m looking at buying a custom pc and have already chosen all components to go with it. Preferably, I would like to get the PC itself built by a shop in London.

Previously I was always recommended YOYOtech on Tottenham Court Road, which apparently was fantastic when it came to customer service reliability and pricing. Unfortunately, it has very recently shut down :(

I am therefore looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, not-too-expensive store in the London area that has got good reviews and customer service, and of course would have experience in building custom PCs

Anybody know of such shops?

I was wondering about YoYo's as I noticed their website went offline a few weeks back, I seem to be in the same boat as you now. There's Cubs over in Finchley, if they are still there that is.

You could try standing in the middle of Tottenham Court Road and shouting and that should get you a few offers - as well as run over by a 24 bus. :D  Also, in Queensway off the Bayswater Road is a market which opens at least six days a week and has some talented chaps working at their stalls. It's on the left, halfway up from the tube and is also a decent source of new and second hand parts.

It's just called Computer Market and looks on the face of it a sort of souvenir shop but once you get through that part, it spreads out into the various stalls. I was there last Friday for parts for my business but few traders were there as it was Ramadan and many are Muslims, so having eaten late the previous night, most had a lie in. That finishes today so normal trading will probably start again. There's a lot of refurbishing going on - almost every trader has a soldering iron on his bench so it's a good place to recycle anything you don't need.

YoYo's is rather high priced from what I checked, my main recommendations would be to either order the components and build it yourself or Chillblast are known to be very good, my friend ordered a PC from them. It came within a week and the cable tidying was excellent, almost no cables were visible.

Although I think YoYo is still open, just an online exclusive store now. I think don't hold me to that though.

Sorry I didn't realise... Probably should read some time stamps before posting some more.

:D  :D  It does help to keep the Forum tidy but don't let it tether your enthusiasm, Machooper - it's the last thing I'd want you to do.

And YoYo Tech is apparently up and running again but they are now in Hemel Hempstead and still expensive.
