My PC all of a sudden it sometimes switches off my keyboard and mouse. It doesn't react to me trying to move the mouse or press any keys on my keyboard. In fact, mouse pointer simply disappears. Plugging them on or off doesn't help; I don't even get the sound you'd typically get when inserting a new USB device on windows. After I reboot my PC it all goes back to normal, only to repeat again. I haven't measured it, but I get the impression that the more I use the PC, the higher the frequency.

It is also relevant that I had just replaced a GPU on a warranty on the same PC. It just stopped working and died when I was playing a videogame.

This all is clearly no coincidence. I suspect that either MoBo or PSU are slowly killing my hardware, but I have no idea how to verify that; if possible, I would like to avoid replacing both of them unless I know what's the problem.

I have a stationary PC with:

  • MoBo: MSI P67A-G45(B3)
  • CPU: Intel2500K
  • 8GB RAM
  • GPU: GeForce 560Ti
  • PSU: Antec EarthWatts 750W
  • OS: Win7 Professional (fresh install)

  • The PC is about 2 years old.

The first thing I would do is run a memory test. There is a guide to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr0aumFW0W8
