System Timer Failure, Help?

I've just built my first computer but when I start it all the lights and fans come on for a few seconds but then go off, then start again but there's these 4 beeps (it keeps doing this over and over again) which means that theme's a system timer failure. I've checked the RAM, HDD and GPU but they are not the problem. So does this mean that there's just a defected component or could or it be as simple as a misplaced connector? Thanks for the help

I found this ask today, although its much too late, maybe someone else will need advice on a similar problem.

if you've been able to check the RAM and PSU with another computer and they work fine, it probably is the the motherboard

maybe the company will send a new one, if in 30 days the place you purchased it should replace it
