Hi
I have the AMD FX 8350 processor with Asus Sabertooth 3gen limited edition and I have had it for like a month and I just dont think the cpu is good enough. So my question is if i should by the Intel i7 4770k or another graphicscard and go SLI with GTX 770. It can handel bf3 on ultra with little lag but other games it is bad FPS. Like on Euro Truck Simulator 2 it cant handel Ultra in the citys but on the higway it is a little bit laggy, and on ABP also bad fps, CS:GO like on bf3, and on minecraft it stands that i have betwen 150 and 400 fps but it lags any way. So dont know what to do? Help pleas!
Sorry for my bad English im from Sweden
Thanks

I do believe it is your possessor acting as your bottleneck, because the 770 is an absolute amazing card.
I wish i knew more about AMD processors. There is no benifit getting a i7 over a i5. The only difference is hyper threading, which will only benefit you if you do rendering. Also I would go Ivy bridge instead of Haswell. The performance boost from Haswell is not worth the money as it is very pathetic. I would go a i5 - 3570k or a i7 - 3770k if you really want a i7. With the money you save from going that way you can buy a decent cooler and overclock your processor. Both those processors i listed can run Battlefield on Ultra perfectly even without being overclocked.
If you decide to add a second graphics card instead it will not fix your problem as your processor is still your bottle neck.
I hoped this helped!

Thanks man it helped me a lot . But what is the real difference betwen the 3770k and 3570k, would they last long enough for gaming so i dont need to by a new one after one or two years. Or should i just by the 4770k, it is a hard choice. But the 4770 seems realy good so i dont know. But i think i want a i7 but i dont know which one. The money difference betwen 4770k and 3770k are 1,5 US $, 1,1 Euros, 10 Swedish kr in Sweden. The socket isn't the same the 4770k are socket 1150 and 3770k are 1155, is it a big difference?

3770k has hyper threading which means it has 8 virtual cores. It does not benefit anything but rendering.
The 4770k motherboards cost alot more.
The socket does not make a difference. Its basically the plug it uses. You need to have the mobo with the right plug to fit the cpu you have... If that makes sense.
All in all it all comes down to opinion. Yes the 4770k is better, but not much better at all. The 3770k is able to be overclocked higher there fore is faster that way. When this all comes down to your games, it will make no noticeable difference at all.
If you are not interested in overlcocking go for a 4770k, if you think you would like to overclock, go for a 3770k.

The 8350 is one of the best amd cpus on the market, and has one of the longest future proof lifespans on cpus at the moment. That processor wont bottleneck a 770, it wont even bottleneck a sli 770 set up. The 8350 will last for years to come so that should not be the issue here.I stand corrected then. Although i highly disagree that it is the 770, because i have a 670 that runs everything at 60Fps no dips.
Zerratastic what kind of hard drive are you using?

Take a look at this, the 3770k wins buy a long shot! (the top black line to the third from the top...(blackline is performance))

I run Windows 7 on a Samsung 840 basic SSD. Al drivers a correctly installed and up to date. But Gam3r01 said that it could be the pcie x16 slot so could it be that the graphicscard isn't realy in place? It was my brother that helped me to build because he had build a lot of computers but never a AMD one so it was kinda new to him aswell. So i dont know what processor i should by if I need one, I dont think I am going to overclock but maybe in the future so still dont know if I should choose the 4770k or 3770k.

The Graphics card should be in the top pci-e slot. Make sure your SSD is pluged into the 6gb/s port, and make sure your ssd never goes above 80% full or it will be a snail. If all those things are correct, then the only thing i see is a plausible virus or programs conflicting. Nothing we can help you with over the internet, sorry bud.

Okay thanks to all of you. The motherboard is Asus Sabertooth 990FX/GEN3 R2.0 and the SSD is in the 6gb/s and the graphicscard is in the top slot. Could it be that the CPU is to hot? it is at 45-50 C when im gaming the CPU Fan is a Noctua NH-L12 low profile and Im only using the big fan/the top one because I could not get the tiny one in. The case is a CoolerMaster Storm Stryker - White and the front fans is faceing to the side. But will another GTX 770 and have it SLI make it better or do I still going to get that lag and just wasting my money? Or i maybe think i know what it is now, the ram? I have Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10) (2x8GB) they are maybe to crappy?

What kind of lagging? (input lag, frame lag, ping lag)? I honestly have gone through every possibility twice in my head... The absolute last thing i can imagine is that there is a program in the background that is eating up all your processing power. It is definitely not ping lag because i have around 10 to 15 ping on the servers i play on bf3. And I dont think it is frame lag either because i have around 150 to 350 FPS on minecraft all the time (mostly on 220 fps). And I have installed NVIDIA GeForce Experience just because I wanted to check wat it was and i think that is running in the background because it is down in that field down to the right when you click on that arrow.

If you press "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" at the same time then click "Task Manager" It will bring up a window. Click the "Processes" tab, then click the "CPU" sub tab till the arrow faces down. That will show the programs running from highest usage to least. Tell me the top 5 at idle, and also play some bf3 and apb, tell me the top 5-7 during that.

chrome.exe is the top 5 ones but some times some thing like dwm.something and some times origin. But if i dont count the chrome ones it is conhost.exe , nvstreamsvc..... , egui.exe , chrome.exe and origin, but Im only having chrome and origin when i play Bf3 just because the battlelog and when i play CS, ABP or TF2 onley steam up obviusly. so chrome should not effekt the lag because I dont have it running when Im gaming, just on bf3. And I had Origin runing now because I did just play some bf3. But all of those had 00 on the cpu exept those that were coming and go had 01

What i would try and do is wipe the the solid state drive completely blank after saving all your photos and personal stuff to a flash drive or external hard drive. Then re install windows and all the drivers. Update, and install a few games. If that does not work then...
Dont scrap the computer you currently have, it has some wicked hardware. Heck i would even buy it off you if i got the cash right now. Its just something isnt working just right with the rest of the system, and i am terribly sorry none of us can figure it out over the internet.

Hi again, I have fixed the lag on APB it was a videosetting. I played it today and id did lag as hell and i went in to the options and I play on 1920 1080 and i change it to 1600 900 and it did still lag even on medium settings and then I saw that Multi GPU thing and i turned it on and lag was gone even on maximum 1920 1080 so i thing it is just settings but Im not sure and after that the lag on minecraft was gone aswell, the FPS is betwen 620 and 180 but some times it drops from 400 down to 120 and that give it a little lag spicke but it is not any lag when I walk around with 300 fps anymore now it is running smooth. Bf3 also runs little better but it is on Ultra graphics, but it is still laggy as f**k on Euro Truck, but I updated it and it is better but still laggy. Btw I have my photos and movies and that stuff on another harddrive (Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM) i only have Windows, programs and games on the SSD. And i think i maybe will get Windows 8 soon because it run games smoother then windows 7. at least what I have heard from my friend that did just upgrade from windows 7

And i think i maybe will get Windows 8 soon because it run games smoother then windows 7. at least what I have heard from my friend that did just upgrade from windows 7Windows 8 does help a tiny little bit for your current setup because it takes more advantage of your AMD FX-8350(because it's 8 cores) However, it should not fix your problem as your problem lies around some faulty stuff(software(not a slow OS) or hardware)
Let's make this more clear. Your computer setup is completely fine. It is actually already one of the best gaming PC setup you could build at the moment. (I said one of, not the only one) Your computer can/should handle all the games on the market at the highest settings.
What I recommend is just like hiporc said, wipe all your data on your SSD and install a clean version of Windows. After that, ONLY install the drivers and the games that you're playing.(to help eliminate program conflicts) and test it. If you find no problem at all. that means it should probably be the programs problem. and then install your programs one by one and test your games before you install the next program that way you know which program is causing the problem.
If you find yourself all perfect after installing all programs and games, that could probably be the virus.
Lastly, I do want you to check the video settings on your games. (you have the Geforce Experience, it should not be the problem) Try to find the option to turn off Vsync if that could probably somehow boost your FPS. Well, you already have couple hundred FPS on certain games, that should not be the case. but just checking, why not?
oh and remember to use the Geforce Experience to optimize your video settings though. Sometimes it will not detect your games if you didn't install your games on your system hard drive but rather on your secondary hard drive. Add the location you want the Geforce Experience to scan the games and optimize each games after that.

Download MSI afterburner, turn on GPU load on screen display, and see what your GPU load is. If it is a constant 90%+ than your processor is fine.Well, the better determining factor would be is the CPU @ 97%+ while gaming and the GPU load is relatively light.
Though I have the 8350, and I don't see games load my CPU more than about 70-80% ever...

HiI have the AMD FX 8350 processor with Asus Sabertooth 3gen limited edition and I have had it for like a month and I just dont think the cpu is good enough.
Thanks
didnt want to read trough everything but, is your raid set to achi, is windows set to achi, check if trim is enabled, make sure you got the late4st chipset drivers, could also be the bios you could also try downloading ccleaner and run registry repair

Hi again, a litle late update now. It have been better but still same thing. I have played with fraps and on bf3 i have between 75 and 130 Fps mostly on 90 on Ultra but it feels like 30 fps. But when i have Vsync on its on stable 60 and it feels like it, but some times it come some lagspickes every 20 s and its not the ping. On the server i play the most on have I 12 ping. On Euro Truck it jumps between 60 and 40 fps all the time and i think thats why it is laggy. I thing it could be my windows. It is a fake /cracked Windows 7 Ultimate it could be that so i think Im going to buy Windows 8 Pro because I will get it for only 90$ insted of 400$.

I do believe it is your possessor acting as your bottleneck, because the 770 is an absolute amazing card.I wish i knew more about AMD processors.
I hoped this helped!
you must have been droped on your head lately the AMD 8350 is fine for gaming 2nd card is the way to go

That wouldn't be the CPU accounting for FPS instability. There would likely be a driver issue, do you have the newest version of BIOS for your motherboard? The newest drivers for your GPU?

1. What PSU do you have?
2. Fire up a game that lags, then give us a screenshot of your processes from task manager
3. Make sure you close all the running applications and try again and see if there is a difference.
4. Update drivers and set your Video Card 3D settings to the default in the whatever the NVIDIA's control panel is called.
Also, you don't need to upgrade anything, both CPU and GPU are perfectly fine.
