recently bought a power supply and graphics card for my g'friends comp, ive put in many in the past, never had any huge issues, took her comp apart, it was extremely dusty and dirty inside so i used some air duster (non moisture) and gently cleaned out as much dust as possible, took the case fan off and cleaned it, took the cpu and fan apart and cleaned the fan, put every thing back together, put in the new psu and card and all the fans turn on, sounds like its turning on like normal but the light on the power button doesnt come on and there is no signal to the monitor, ive triple checked all the power connectors (including the one that goes to the new card) and everything is plugged in correctly. i then gave up and put in the previous psu and removed the card, and its now doing the same thing, everything turns on, fans stay on, sounds like the comp is running but no light on the power button and no signal output to the monitor. getting desperate please help. might possible be the CPU, maybe it got messed up or something when i put it back on?

I would take out the CPU and check to see if you bent any of the pins. If you did you can straighten them back out if you are very careful.

I have done this and there was one that was bent, so i carefully straightened it and put it back in, after i tried it again with the same result i then took it back out and checked it again, this time none were bent, replaced again and same result again.

It's possible that you could have damaged something with electrostatic discharge. It's recommended that a grounding wrist strap or grounding pad is used when handling sensitive electronics.

Well I don't really know then, I mean it's sounds like the CPU isn't working. maybe check over the pins one more time, there could be some permanent damage from when the pin was bent. Maybe try to take out the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS, or use the onboard jumper to reset it.
