Thanks for the swift reply....I'm considering another 840PRO 128gb.....but was hoping that the PATA/IDE interface could adapted, (no SATA) have little experience with this. While the laptop model IS old (and slow), I have upgraded the CPU and maxed the RAM....I just need to address the PATA/IDE interface for an improved hard drive solution. Would I necessarily need a PATA/IDE SSD or would a SATA work, adapted, at lowered speeds? Anyone got experience with the adapters and this scenario for old 2004 Toshiba laptops? Could a SATA SSD work adapted w/a IDE-to-SATA adapter in this old laptop at a better data transfer rate than the original HDD? Any answer would be greatly appreciated!
