Hey Community!

So here's my dilemma
I Recently started using my Samsung HDTV as a monitor for watching movies and playing games and etc. ( I am using HDMI to connect obviously.)
I notice very irritating lags and movies lag as well and its killing me!
As far as gaming goes , few games run fine depending on the graphics and games like NFS : Most Wanted lag even on the lowest graphic settings!

So i want to know if there is anything i can do to remove this.

Here are my details
PC Configuration
Windows 7 - 64BIT
Intel i7-2600 @ 3.40 GHZ , 8 GB RAM , Nvidia GeForce GT520 (1GB)

TV MODEL
http://www.samsung.com/nz/support/model/UA46C6200UMXRD-...

I want to know , if the problem is
1. My Graphic Card
2. THE TV ! ( Seems not all HDTV's are compatible for gaming/media )
3. Or just poor settings from my side!

ANY help would be greatly appreciated :D

If the issues do not show up on the laptop screen, it's not an issue with the speed of the video card or settings.

Try lowering the resolution on the TV display and see if that helps at all, try 720p resolution.

I tried that , lowering the resolution.
It resulted in the same lag. /Oh and btw , its a desktop , not a laptop.

Could be an issue with the responce time on the TV. Does a regular monitor work OK? Also check the refresh rate on it, try using 60 if it's set to something else.

60 is the max it goes to on the HDTV , on the monitor it goes 75.
And yea the monitor runs just fine :/

Your GPU isnt up to much try the 580 for as little as £140 while stocks last.

I was also thinking it has to be the GPU
If it is that and nothing else , i might aswell spend a little extra and get a decent graphic card.

Any software or settings i can do to avoid this by any chance?

Never and you will need a 750 W psu to power a mid range card me i have the GTX 480 on a 750W it kicks Crysis 3 to 50 fps F1 2112 60 fps on 100Hrz HDTV. Avoid the GTX 770 780 unless u pay for 1000w psu .

Thanks for the reply!
I just checked and i have a 510 W PSU , which means ill need to purchase a better psu in order to power up my graphic card if i buy a powerful one , right?
I'm ready to purchase both so i kicked my graphic card to overclock and let's see how that turns out , going to run some benchmark now
