Vga Monitor Losing signal randomly when connected to ps3

I have an AOC (200lm00010). It works perfectly with my CPU.

But i have a new ps3 and i want to play it with my lcd. so i bought a HDMI - VGA converter.

When i connect my ps3 to my monitor it losses signal randomly. But when i tried it to my friends Vga monitor it works perfectly.

I also notice it losses signal more often when i change it to 720p. And lessen when changed to 420p.

I will be so thankfull if anyone helps me. Cause i dont have money to buy a new monitor

btw my computer max resolution is 1600 x 900 and its an LED not an LCD

I'd suspect a dodgy HDMI - VGA converter.
Or simply a semi-loose connection.

HDMI to VGA converters are active, they require electronics to convert the signal. Many of them are of low quality and some may not work at all at certain resolutions or refresh rates. I'm going to second USAFRet's opinion above, dodgy converter or loose connector.

uhm as ive said hdmi-vga converter works perfectly with my friends vga monitor. and my monitor works perfect also with my pc.
