cpu cooler just touches ram = trouble

Hi got a new build in progress bits that count being an article freezer 7 rev 2 sitting on an Asus h87 pro.

Sadly I also have corsair vengeance ram (2x4g) with massive heat spreaders!

When fitted freezer 7 is touching the ram....only a little but touching.

I really don't want to rip off spreaders and waiting days for low profile replacements doesn't sound great.

So question is can I get away with it?

Contact is slight but ram us sitting a tiny tiny bit to the right.

Hi,

Not sure how folks will feel about this but I have clipped away part of the plastic "cage" surrounding the fan. Its still stable and now fits.

If you look at the "cage" it's held by two ring one above the other one the fan, so a slight modification has made it fit nicely. :lol:
