I have a Seagate 2TB Expansion Drive. I use a MacBook. Up until 2 days ago I was able to save files on there, then midway through a download I got an error message saying that my drive was read-only. I've contacted Seagate but they have been just about useless as they told me that they have never heard of that happening before. I can drag my files out of the EHD onto my desktop & they are fine, I just can't save anything. Does anyone know how I can fix this(please keep in mind I'm ok with computers but I need explainations in plain english please!)? Seagate have told me that I can't use their EHD on a Mac but I've been using it for a year & the place I bought it from, as well as a zillion Google results tell me that you can. Will all my stuff be lost in order to fix this issue? Thanks

Drive is probably NTFS. You probably had some kind of NTFS hack on your Mac that stopped working.
Copy files from drive to another HDD and format it to HFS+ if you are only going to use it with a Mac (or/and want Time Machine on it) or format it to exFAT for compartibility between OS X and Windows.
