dual monitor problem

when i switch to 2nd monitor screen on main goes to desktop
I will be playing a game on the main monitor, I slide the cursor over to the 2nd monitor and whatever I had on main is now in the taskbar and main is at the desktop.

Keep the game in windowed mode, just expand it to fill the screen as much as you can. When you move the mouse off the main screen, the game sees it pretty much the same as an Alt-Tab. It may depend on the game though, that's another reason why games on two monitors are not good, you can't really play full screen on one, and on both you have a big break in the middle.
