Firewall that only blocks what I tell it

Does anyone know of a software firewall that can block internet connections from a few executables that I define and do absolutely nothing else?

I just have a couple programs that I need to keep from auto-updating, but every firewall that I can find immediately takes over my entire system, breaks everything on my network, and uses ridiculous levels of system resources.

Read the instructions to the firewall, many of them allow you to set allow and deny lists. Try ZoneAlarm.
