What if my RAM is too fast for my Motherboard?

I've been experiencing a freezing problem, and only now realized that my ram is at 1866 MHz, but my motherboard supports 1600 MHz at most. Could this be causing the Freezes? If so, can I fix it by just underclocking the ram, or do I have to buy new RAM?

Prob running with loose timings at 1333, what's the actual model # of the DRAM, and we can set it up at 1600 or better also what CPU?

Yeah, you can adjust the freq manually but depends on the processor. Btw, what is the motherboard model number? Trying running CPU-Z and see the speed the memory is running at or check in the BIOS. If the speed is something like 1333MHz as mentioned by @Tradesman1 then we can try setting to a better freq and timing and hopefully it should work. Also if possible make sure you have the latest BIOS version, if not try flashin it.
