Hi,
This monitor is said to be 144hz - but i can find no proof that it really is! - benq official website won't load somehow.
This monitor has two input ports, one HDMI, which supports up to 60hz refresh rate, and a VGA port... will this support up to 144hz? As long as the cord isn't too long, there's no loss of image quality, but I thought only dp and dvi supported refresh rates above 60hz...

Solution
It is possible the latest BenQ monitors are going to be going to 144hz, but the reality is, 120hz with Lightboost is the true ultimate for gaming. 120hz with Lightboost on is much better than 144hz without it due to blurring.

Solution

You'll have to use Dual Link DVI-D or displayport. Though as a Lightboost monitor, I think you are required to use Dual Link DVI-D to get Lightboost. Follow the instructions in the link. Most the BenQ 120hz+ monitors are 3D Vision, but depending on when they were released, they may or may not have Lightboost. You'll have to look it up.

According to this link it is 144hz (120hz with Lightboost btw), and is 3D Vision 2 compatible, which means it has Lightboost.

It does not appear to have a built in emitter and glasses, so if you want to use 3D Vision 2, you'll have to buy the 3D Vision 2 kit separately. (The 3D Vision 1 kit will work, but they are uncomfortable).

Great. I could check on the benq website and yes it does have dvi-d port. I really like this monitor, but i'm torn between this and a triple monitor setup... of course I'd buy cheaper 60hz monitors... next week I'll buy either but as for now i'm afraid that if i go for one I'll miss the benefits of the other solution
