I am looking for a new desktop for myself. I play a lot of different games and do use other programs like Dreamweaver, Visual Basic, VMWare, and occasionally Photoshop. I definitely want an i7 processors. I found two desktops (below) that both have i7. One 3rd gen and the other 4th gen. Is there a significant difference between the two or do you really only notice a difference in laptops? I also want to put a GTX 670 in one of them since the graphics are pretty bad on them.

Definetely agree with the above, if you are planning to spend a fair amount of money on a rig ($500+) then self building is a much better path in terms of value for money and upgrade paths in the future.

If your worried about it being hard, its really not its simply sticking 6 or 7 parts into a case :p and if you have any problems theres a wealth of knowledge on the internet and forums such as toms are willing to help all the time :)
