I don't know what motherboard I have, I only know what model my laptop is and what processor it has, but I will give my computer specs if someone can find out what motherboard I have.

My laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ56 Notebook PC with a AMD v160 peocessor, 2.4GHz.

I want to upgrade my current processor to a more powerful/faster processor. The Socket for my laptop is a Socket 1 (S1g4).

Are there any better processors for my laptop that are compatible with my motherboard?

Thank you.

I'm afraid laptop CPUs cannot be replaced or changed, even if it went for repairs to the manufacturer, the chip itself is soldered onto the motherboard PCB so would require heating to melt the metal compounds before it can be removed.
If your looking for a replacement, a desktop in a small form factor case would be the best option, especially if you are gaming...

There's a small chance you can swap CPUs, but it is highly doubtful. Most likely it is soldered into the mobo.
