The 5970 is good, but outdated, two of them will murder your PSU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... Go for this instead, it has very similar performance.

Is that card similar performance to 1 or 2 cards.

it may be out dated but still rated very highly and is still preforms better than most cards out there today.

True, but then again, the 7970 linked is $300 and has very similar if not better performance. The 5970 has limited RAM compared to the due to it essentially being dual 5870s in Crossfire.

I think you should wait for the ati 9000s to release im hearing in sept or so that way you wont have buyers remorse on the card you purchase and for the new card for the same amount of money you will have better performance.

^ Either the very good deal of a $300 7970 or a 9950\9970 will be a better GPU than the 5970.

True i still would give the edge to a 9950/9970. Ive seen this happen alot to where people would buy the older card right when the new ones is about to drop then ending up kicking they self in the but because they didnt wait and having to sell/return the card for the new series. To save trouble and hassle wait for the 9970 for sure

Well, it is a good idea to wait, Dual 6870s will do fine until the 9970 releases.
