Sound Problems Help

Hello,
No sound is playing from my PC I have windows 7. The icon at the bottom has a cross next to it and if I hover over it it Say:No speakers or headphone are plugged in even though i have headphones plugged in are fully functional.
*Note*- I installed a new graphics card earlier.

Hey!
Go to Start
Control Panel
System
Device Manager
Right click "disable sound/speakers"
restart or reboot computer
Go back into steps 1-4
Right click
And Click Enable Speakers
Click ok to test them
