Deleting Zombie Notifications

Consider the following scenario

1. You post an answer to a thread.
2. This creates an unread answer notification for you with pretty numbers and flags.
3. The thread is deleted before you have a chance to read the new post.

The result appears to be that you are left with a zombie notification (together with the pretty numbers and flags) that you cannot clear. Is there any way to clear out all notifications, or turn them off?

I had the same thing a while back. I think there's a "Clear All Notifications" link somewhere. Use that.

Edit: I thing it's the "Mark All as Read" link under the notifications page.

Thanks - that does it. But it's not exactly obvious.

It would be helpful if when a post was deleted any notifications for that post were reset.

Edit: Also, of course, you may not want to delete all outstanding notifications at that time, just get rid of the zombie.

It's a user case exception that a thread is deleted, but yes, this is definitely something that should be taken into account by the notifications. Will pass along the recommendation.
