Well the i5 2450 will have better performance
However, the AMD cpu is actually an APU which means that its integrated graphics are as good as some nvidia graphics cards out there.
So i suggest you get the AMD 6800k if your not getting a graphics card.
Or get the i5 2450 if your getting a graphics card

In most technical aspects the A10 6800k is slightly better it will probably boot faster and it is more recent so it will have better support for programs and games but the i5 2450 has 6mb of L3 cache as the A10 6800k has none but has more L2 cache and this will be a limiting factor for the A10 and if your gaming L3 is important for optimizing the latest games. But if you want the best overall performance and you plan on using a discrete graphics card I would go with the i5 2450 not to mention it draws less power and is less likely to overheat. The only good thing I can really say about AMD in general is that it is far cheaper to build an AMD PC. Also the i5 2450 is an 1155 socket which means if you still haven't chosen your MB it is a good choice for this year.

well in this case the AMD PC would be better because of the superior GPU, the GT 630 is not that powerful of a graphics card maybe if you but a better GPU in the Intel you would have a pretty decent gaming PC. Note sometimes with games poorly coded as GTA IV you get poor performance because sometimes the GPU will underclock itself to run weaker games or like I said GTA IV is poorly coded. All in all both CPU's are quite capable of being paired with a mid to high end graphics card and not bottleneck.
