36mbs Down and 6mbs Up On Speed Test (Questions)

Hey guys! I have a question for you guys. I have a super high speed internet connection here at my house and i get around 36mps download and 6-7 upload. But whenever im downloading from a website i only get around 2mb down and 2 up max. My speed tests show that i am having the service i paid for. But why am i not getting full speeds? I would like to download a 36 MB file in a Second lol.

Maybe the website you are downloading from did not buy as good a connection as you did.

More than likely they have it artificially limited to prevent a single users with a very high speed connection from blocking all other users.

Be careful files are in bytes and data rates are in bits you have to convert the rates.

Still it could be as simple as a distance issue. If you choose different speed test sites you will see the farther you go from where you live the less data you can transfer.
