Hello,

I've noticed a Maximum TDP (Thermal Design Power) limit on a Motherboard of 95Watt. Is this for the CPU only, or does this limit apply to the GPU too?

Does this effect the performance of the Graphics Card if the TDP of the card exceeds that of the main board?

For example: The case of the nVidia GTX650Ti (TDP 110W)

Thank you!

(Also, thanks for the great site - I always refer to it for tech info!)

The cpu has its own 8 pin power connector so the motherboard's tdp is just for the motherboard, you need to look at the specific cpu's tdp. And no, it doesn't. You will be connecting power connectors to that card straight from the power supply, NOT the motherboard, so you are fine!

Good luck :)
