M5A78L-M USB3 mobo
FX-8350 cpu
GTX660 Geforce GPU
2x 4gb Vengeance RAM
WD 680gb HDD
No optical drive, I use a USB one

I literally started building it today, and finished it about an.hour ago

Oh, all the parts are brand new

The CPU requires a newer BIOS version (1401 or later). There's a sticker on the motherboard. The last 4 digits on that sticker stand for the board's BIOS version.
Check firstly if the BIOS version does support the CPU.

The CPU is supported, I don't know about the BIOS, how do I update it?

Oh, all I found was an 'AO8' on top of the USB ports, there was a barcode, however, I can't see anything else.

The digits are: 1503

The CPU is supported.
Is the CPU fan spinning when starting the board?
Try leaving single RAM stick installed, graphics card (make sure that the PCIe cables -if required, are connected), DVD drive, keyboard and mouse. Use the VGA port for connecting the monitor.
Start the board and see if posting.

Yeah, the CPU, GPU, PSU and case fans all work, the green light just by the gpu is lighting up and everything seems fine.

The VGA monitor I'm using is quite old, an is just showing a flashing orange LED, it should be green to be active.

I haven't got another PC for testing, everything seems to be working perfectly, I just can't get a picture on any of my monitors through any of the ways I've tried.

Hard to say what's wrong. Try testing the board outside the case , with single memory module, graphics card, DVD drive, keyboard and mouse.
Clear the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for few minutes) and start the board.
If still the same, I suggest testing the components at a local shop.

I'll follow the battery route for now, if that doesn't work out would switching from HDMI to DVI work?
