Best graphics card for 500 watt power supply?

I am purchasing a new computer but would like to upgrade the graphics card ASAP. Let me know what you need to know and I'll let you know.
This is the PSU: Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500w Power Supply (RS500-PCARD3-US)

I have a monitor that can run up to 1920x1080 but I prefer to stay at 1280x720 for more frames per second gaming.

i would change coolermaster is the worst psu brand to get
get a corsiar,antec orseasonic

and for a gpu hd 7870 or gtx 760

I have around $100-$150 for a GPU after buying this: Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600)
Should I wait until i have around $200-$300 to buy a gpu?
