Hi All,

I am a Pentium 4 user . It is high time to upgrade my PC now !
I am mostly interested in playing CS 1.6 and CS:Go games .
My overall Budget is 20k (20,000 INR)
SO please tell me,
1. Will AMD FX 6300 will serve the purpose ? Other good option is i5 3rd gen ..but it is beyond my budget as of now..
2. Which is better in performance i3 3rd gen or AMD Fx 6300 ?? (Main points being 'LAG', 'UnNecessary Shutdowns' , 'Speed' , 'Multitasking')
3. I have heard that AMD processors end up heating a lot than Intel .Is that true ? If yes which cooling system can i buy to reduce tempreture ? (Please specify Product model name if possible)

4. I am planning to buy Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 Motherboard for fx 6300 and
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9)
Are these best compatible prodcuts for my Fx 6300 ?

5 . Please suggest a good Graphic card which will be compatible for above products ?

This is the 1st time i am upgrading my Desktop , so need your help guys .
Kindly Reply :)
Thanks for reading.

If you were to go for an intel CPU I recommend a 4th gen, as the 1155 socket has been put into retirement. Yes the 6300 is a very good CPU. It depends you haven't specified a 3rd gen i3. It all depends no CPU is the same, its all luck. A hyper 212 will be sufficient for some mild to medium overclocking, the stock will be fine anyway. Ram doesn't matter, they're all pretty much the same. I recommend you get 2*2gb sticks to take advantage of dual channel Ram. And I am unfamiliar with your currency. Once you can determine how much money you have after all the other pieces only then may I be able to help you.

INR == INDIAN NATIONAL RUPPEE

1 USD = 63.75 INR

and 4th gen processors would go far beyond my current budget ..
Thanks for replying :)

Yeah, found out that 100 INR is the same as 1 GBP. It isn't gonna get you very far, but then again Im not quite sure about costs of stuff in India. So, find the cheapest reliable place where you can get a 6300, and choose the cheapest, 2*2gb ddr3 sticks. I dont think you'll be able to get a decent GPU right away, so I reccomend getting the cheapest 2*4gb sticks (8gb's), and with the rest of your money an am3+ socket motherboard. Extra points if you can get an atx asrock motherboard.

The 6300 is much better in most games than an i3. The motherboard is a bit dated though. However if that is what is in your budget it will do fine.

The graphics cards don't have compatibility issues so select the best one for your budget. I'd recommend trying to get a GTX 650 ti boost or Radeon HD 7790 but those might be out of your price range. If they are don't go any lower than a gtx 650 or HD 7750 however those cards won't play the newest games at high settings. If you have some money left over for your budget try to see if you can sneak a gtx 660 or HD 7850 or 7870.

I know prices in India are inflated, hence why I mentioned so many cards for you. Most of the cards I mentioned however are lower end cards. Keep that in mind.

Good luck with your build.

FX 6300 + 970 chipset MB would be best, something like the MSI 970A-G43 would be good if not overclocking. If you are overclocking, consider something like Asus M5A97 R2.0. Your board is ok as long you're not overclocking.

Sure, for more money they do. If he isn't overclocking he doesn't need a 990FX board. I am overclocked to 4.4 via BCLK and NB on my M5A97 R2.0. Besides if you want to get nuts...the Crosshair V Formula Z is THE OC board of choice...and it's all yours for only $215.

He has a tight budget...and a 970 board gets him a more stable platform and more features for decent money. Not everyone is about trying to squeeze 5 GHz out of their CPU.

THANKSS @jonathan,etheral and 8450rocks for replying !! :)

After much search on Google i have chosen following configurations :

1. AMD Fx 6300 proc (7500 INR)
2. GA 78 LMT S2 Mobo (or GA -78 USB3 confused between these two) Gigabyte processors costs around 3000 INR in india (47.33 USD$) Please sugest if any other lie in this range between 50$-55$
3. ATI RADEON HD 6670 DDR5 1GB gfx card (6000 INR)
4. 4GB Corsair Vengenance RAM (1*4GB) (2800 INR)

Besides i will need a SMPS and Cooler too (which will cost around 2500 INR)

How do you find this configuration ?
Is it okay for smooth gaming ? Any thing unnecessary here ?

The problem is that the 6670 is pretty old and weak. Don't expect it to play new games with high settings. It should be ok if you are playing at 720p resolution and at low to medium settings.

If the HD 7750 or HD 7770 is just a little bit more in india, I'd suggest you save up for one of those. While those graphics cards won't play the latest games at 1080p and max settings, they will do far better than the 6670. If the 6670 is the best graphics card you can afford then go ahead and get it, just don't expect the best performance out of it.
