Hello Everyone.

First of all , I am very glad to be part of this community as i have learned a lot from here and really wish to stick around for a while.

Moving On, I am planning on building my First Ever Gaming PC Build (Mid Range) and after suffering through weeks of research I was finally able to decide what I want, but since I am still fairly new to this I was interested in having your opinion on these components and even suggestions for better one's in the same price range.

BTW Pardon me on my grammar as English is not my first language.

So Here we go,

Processor : AMD FX 8350
Motherboard : Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2
Ram : Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz (8Gb x 2)
Chassis : Corsair Vengeance C70 / Thermaltake Chaser MK-I
CPU Cooler : Corsair H100i
Graphic Card : XFX HD 7870 Black Edition (2Gb)
SMPS : Corsair 750 watts 80+ Certified Gaming Power Supply
SSD : Samsung 128Gb SSD
HDD : 1TB x 2 Western Digital
OS : Windows 7 Ultimate (Windows 8 indeed has faster booting but lags in games when compared to Win7 on notable level)

All I want to be able to do is play the following Games at 60Fps in 720p or at best in 1080i res.

Battlefield 3, Simcity 2013, Call of Duty MW2,3 , COD : Ghosts, Crysis 2,3 , Far Cry 3, etc

I have a max. excessive of 50-80$ budget left in order to upgrade this build if necessary.

Please suggest anything that could make this build better in terms of performance.

P.S. Pls don't suggest Intel CPU here as I want to really try this build with AMD.

P.P.S I know nVidia has Advanced Physx and all other good stuff over ATI, but is it really worth the Extra Price ? Considering the performance level of both.

Thankx in Advance for all the suggestions.

Adios,
SH1

16 GB RAM is a overkill, stay with 8 GB, that will be enough for you and will save some bucks. Else everything is fine. Happy gaming.

Seems like a solid build to me! Your build has slightly better specs than mine, and I can get max settings on those games already! You should have no issues there. Overclocking the FX-8350 is cake, should not have any issues since you are using liquid cooling. Maybe 4Gbx2 for ram, 16 is a little much.

To wrap it up, looks like you have enough power (while allowing a little breathing room for upgrades), good motherboard choice, solid state, etc...

Thankyou for your reply.

I am no tech expert so i do wish to know , does having 16gigs instead of 8gigs give you any considerable advantage coz I dont mind spending few extra bucks if it does. (sorry for being the noob here )

Its not a noob question its a valid question. Look you only need 16 gigs of RAM if you are editing something like video or audio or using some intense memory hungry programs. But in your case you want to play some games that you listed above and regular staff, so 8 GB is enough for you, as when you will be playing games only 50-60% memory will be used at most. I am myself a hardcore gamer and I have 8 GB of RAM. So more RAM will not gain you much.

Thankx for the reply man.

Just one more query, since I will be saving some bucks off the RAM , would it be wise to go with the ASUS 7870 instead of XFX (since i heard on this forum and few others that XFX has some fan / heatsink related issues).

There are no much issues as far as I know. XFX is a rated brand, and I always use XFX for GPU and PSU with no problems. Both brands are good and its upto you for which brand you go for. And you don't saved that much on RAM as you are thinking cause you owe me a Pizza, ha ha ha. Good luck.
