My Dell Inspiron 1750 is playing up badly, my problems started when I was in the process of seeing exactly what upgrades I could get as my laptop seriously needs it and is still as I bought it. I went to Crucial and the scan revealed compatible kit. I was intending on getting a new HD and 4G RAM but the scan said I was only using one slot,It has RAM in both,I was tying to get to the bottom of that problem when suddenly it wont load windows, I ran a windows diagnostic and it said a critical file or driver was missing or corrupt, I cant get it to factory setting and I cant start safe mode or safe mode with command prompt,I cant start anything.
I cant use my disks,it wont have it, any help will be appreciated

If you have access to a windows boot disk, run chkdsk.exe /f /r c: from the command line.
If you dont then I would create you a hirens boot disk. with that you can boot your laptop and hopefully recover important files and then run a surface scan or diagnostics on your drive.
